MISSION
Legacy of Life Hawai‘i is dedicated to saving and restoring lives by recovering organs and tissue for transplant; encouraging organ, eye and tissue donation in the community through professional and public outreach and education, while honoring and supporting those who have given the gift of life.
OVERSIGHT
Legacy of Life Hawai‘i is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization and is the only federally designated organization in Hawai‘i to recover organs and tissue for transplant.
FOUNDED
Legacy of Life Hawai‘i was founded by Livingston M. F. Wong, MD, FACS in 1987.
SERVICES
Evaluation of organ/tissue donor suitability; coordination of organ recovery; organ placement; tissue recovery; family support and aftercare; hospital staff education; public and professional education.
